Honoring an Accomplishment
Kathy Belcher, Mary Ann Cano, Dana Orellana and Theresa Weaver have all worked their entire nursing careers at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, with a cumulative tenure of 100 years! The four women share another distinction. In August of 2010, they completed their graduate studies and earned the esteemed Masters of Science in Nursing degree.
Naturally, a bond developed between them as they studied to advance their medical degrees while working together in the hospital. They celebrated their accomplishment amongst family, friends, and coworkers at a garden party and asked that in lieu of gifts, donations be made to support St. Joseph’s Foundation’s Nursing Scholarship program.
St. Joseph’s Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Foundation awards several scholarships each year to students currently enrolled or enrolling in healthcare-related post-High School course programs who consistently exhibit excellence in theory and clinical application. These scholarships are made possible by generous donors including the St. Joseph’s Medical Center Auxiliary, Millie Lewis, and Theresa Weaver.
