St. Joseph's Medical Center reaches out to those who need care the most.

Giving Circles

For an annual pledge of only $100 or more you can become a member of a St. Joseph's Foundation Centers of Excellence Giving Circle. St. Joseph's Foundation Centers of Excellence Giving Circles help provide funding for capital projects, community education projects, and support services for patients and their families serviced by the Regional Cancer Center, Heart Center, and Women & Infants Center.

  • CANCER CIRCLE - Cancer Navigator Program - The Cancer Navigator program is a free service to help anyone newly diagnosed or experiencing a recurrence with cancer to navigate through the tests, procedures, treatments, and support issues that follow a positive biopsy. The program is funded primarily through community donations and serves over 400 people each year. The goal to raise an additional $100,000 for this program will allow for the hiring of a part-time dedicated cancer navigator to provide outreach, support and assist with charitable care.
  • HEART CIRCLE - Heart Lung Machine - With almost 4,000 cardiac procedures annually, which includes over 400 cardiac surgeries a year, St. Joseph’s is one of the top ten volume cardiac surgery programs in the state of California and ranks among the top programs in the nation! An essential component of cardiac surgery is a Heart Lung Machine which helps provides blood oxygenation and circulation to organs and the brain while the patient’s heart and lungs are temporarily stopped. The purchase of an additional new machine to accommodate the volume of surgeries performed costs $200,000 and will be 100% funded by philanthropy.
  • WOMEN & INFANTS CIRCLE – Books For Babes – St. Joseph’s Medical Center is honored to help welcome 2,500 babies each year! St. Joseph’s Auxiliary with the Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma (an international organization of educators) provides “Baby’s First Book” to each newborn at St Joseph’s. Research shows that early exposure to books enhances children’s learning. Babies who are held in early months and who hear the sound of their parents’ voices develop positive feelings regarding language and books. Baby’s First Books, offered both in English and Spanish, contain colorful presentation of nursery rhymes on one page and suggestions for parents to promote literacy on the opposite page. The cost of providing these books to every baby born at St. Joseph’s is over $7,000 each year and is funded completely by philanthropy.

Members of our Giving Circles receive special benefits in recognition of their commitment to the expansion of services and new technology that provide for the changing health care of our community. Please print our Giving Circles Gift Form (PDF) and send it to us with your donation.
