Large Grant Award for New Residency Program

This summer, we welcomed the first class of Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine residents. Each three year program will bring new physicians to the Central Valley and will help positively impact healthcare for generations to come.  Welcome!

St. Joseph’s Medical Center was recently awarded a $2.53 million grant from the State of California to support its newly launched Graduate Medical Education (GME) Residency Program. The grant is a result of a collaborative effort between the GME program and St. Joseph’s Foundation of San Joaquin.

July 2018 brought our first class of residents in two initial programs, Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine. In 2019, we will introduce an Internal Medicine and OB/GYN program.

These programs, and the entire development of the GME program at St. Joseph’s, is in keeping with our deeply held mission to serve the health care needs of the community and the greater Stockton area.

St. Joseph’s Earns Cancer Center and Breast Center of Excellence Reaccreditation

We are proud to say that again, The American College of Surgeons has awarded the Cancer Institute and our Breast Center of Excellence their highest honor, program accreditation. St. Joseph’s Cancer Institute is held to the same rigorous standards as the major University hospitals. To our community, accreditation means not having to leave town for excellence in cancer care.

We need your help! As technology changes, you have the ability to help us bring the latest advancements in cancer fighting equipment to the Central Valley.  New linear accelerators allow for higher doses of radiation, given in less time and with less impact on healthy tissue.

TAVR

Heart & Valve Clinic nearing 100th TAVR procedure

Since the opening the Cardiac Hybrid Suite in June 2016,
St. Joseph’s highly specialized Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) team has performed 96 procedures. The oldest patient to receive a TAVR valve is 97, turning 100 years old next year. Close monitoring and follow up care has helped reduce visits to the ER and hospital readmissions.

Thank you to all of our generous donors that helped support the addition of the Cardiac Hybrid Suite, and those that continue to fund future advances to enable community physicians to treat their patients locally for complex heart disease.

Leave Your Legacy with Dignity Health

Special Thanks to the SGCC Thursday Ladies Golf Group

Please join us in extending a huge, heartfelt thank you to the Stockton Golf & Country Club Thursday Ladies Golf Group. The Ladies held their 10th annual guest day golf tournament in August, attracting a field of ladies from many clubs throughout Northern California.

During the awards ceremony, the Thursday Ladies presented their largest donation in Club history to St. Joseph's Foundation of San Joaquin - $35,752 - in support of St. Joseph’s Cancer Institute's Patient Navigator, COPE, and Lynn W. Cook Cancer Exercise Programs. 100% of this very generous donation will be used locally to offer patients and families a wealth of support services, free of charge.

Thank you for supporting St. Joseph’s and our community in such a meaningful way.
