Address urgent community health needs like never before

500,000+ people in our service area

Many rely on St. Joseph’s Medical Center in their time of need

Healing takes more than medicine

Many of St. Joseph's patients live at or near the poverty line, facing food insecurity, economic stress, mental health challenges, and substance use disorders on top of a diagnosis. Families managing cancer and chronic illness often need help covering groceries, gas, and lost wages simply to get through treatment. Too often, the Emergency Department becomes the only place people can turn when they have nowhere else to go.

Meeting patients where they are

Your gift will ensure that healing reaches beyond the exam room. St. Joseph's already orders nutrition counseling, exercise rehabilitation, and financial support to patients in our cancer center and oncology unit, made possible entirely through donors like you. This campaign will secure that commitment for the long term: more social workers, substance abuse navigators, mental health professionals, and palliative care specialists who meet patients where they are and connect them to the services they actually need.

A mission that reaches beyond diagnosis

St. Joseph's has already built partnerships with community health organizations to address the priorities identified through its own community health needs assessments. Your support will deepen that work, treating the whole person rather than just the diagnosis in front of them. Our Catholic mission of service demands nothing less, and this campaign is how that mission reaches further into the community that depends on it.

With your support, this campaign will deliver:

  • Financial relief, including grocery and gas assistance, for cancer patients facing the cost of treatment.
  • Nutrition counseling and exercise rehabilitation programs that help patients recover and manage side effects.
  • Social workers and substance abuse navigators who meet Emergency Department patients where they are.
  • Deeper partnerships between our Emergency Department and community health organizations serving our most vulnerable neighbors.
  • Palliative care specialists who bring comfort and support to patients in the Emergency Department.
